Farewell Snows

No this is not a comment on the lack of frozen precipitation so far this month. (We did have a brief flurry this morning.) Dr. Snow was our family doctor from 1977, when we first moved to Silver Spring, until 1997, when our medical benefits package required that we choose an HMO. Now she has retired at the age of ninety. Her daugher-in-law and nurse, Michelle Snow called me last week and asked if I wanted to pick up the family medical records. I did that this morning and spent a half hour in the office chatting with Michelle, catching up on the last decade of our lives. I did not see Dr. Snow who recently suffered a broken hip and has some other medical problems, but asked Michelle to give her a hug for me. I will miss them. They saw us through, immunizations, blocked tear ducts, dislocated knees, popped lungs, and the ever popular URI's. Flower Avenue will not be the same. (Actually it's not the same. When I went there today it had speed bumps on it.)
